Dakota J. Wrinkle is the founder and managing attorney of Texas Landowner Law Firm, PLLC. Although he is licensed to practice law in both Oklahoma and Texas, Dakota concentrates his practice exclusively within the state of Texas. As a landowner himself, Dakota has a firsthand understanding of the priorities and challenges that landowners encounter. He shares the deep sentiments and values of families who have lived, worked, and prospered on their land. Land ownership is a cornerstone of personal and financial security in our country, providing a tangible connection to our planet and a lasting legacy for future generations. It instills a profound sense of pride and responsibility, as it represents not just a piece of property, but a place where memories are made, livelihoods are sustained, and values are passed down. The stability and autonomy that come with owning land offer a unique sense of fulfillment, deeply rooted in the history and heritage of those who steward it. Protecting it is of paramount importance, and that is why Dakota founded the Texas Landowner Law Firm. Dakota earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, graduating cum laude from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. He then obtained his Juris Doctor with Highest Honors from The University of Tulsa College of Law in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During law school, Dakota contributed to the Energy Law Journal and earned a Sustainable Energy and Resources Law Certificate, reflecting his academic focus on energy, environmental, and resources law. Before establishing his firm, Dakota served as an Assistant District Attorney for Tulsa County, Oklahoma, where he managed the county’s felony and misdemeanor cases. In this role, he conducted motion hearings, preliminary hearings, and both misdemeanor and felony trials. Following his tenure as an Assistant District Attorney, Dakota practiced civil litigation and real property law at both national and local firms. Dakota's legal expertise encompasses oil and gas title review, oil and gas litigation, probate and estate planning, contract drafting and review, general civil litigation, and real estate disputes, including condemnation, Trespass to Try Title and Quiet Title actions, partitions, and much more. Beyond the legal profession, Dakota takes pride in his role as a small business owner, operating both a laundromat and a real estate development company. This entrepreneurial experience gives him valuable insight into the legal challenges faced by small business owners. Dakota currently resides in Kaufman County, Texas, with his wife, Cordray, and their son and daughter.
